Resources for Professional Advisors
As a trusted advisor, the work you do on behalf of your clients—and our donors—plays an essential role in strengthening the Boston Public Library. Your thoughtful planning and guidance can help ensure that the Library remains a vital civic, educational, and cultural resource for generations to come.
Charitable giving, including planned gifts, can be a meaningful part of your clients’ overall financial and estate planning. At the Boston Public Library Fund, we are committed to collaborating with you to help your clients achieve their philanthropic goals in ways that align with their personal values and financial plans.
Gift planning is most successful when it’s a collaborative effort between the donor, their advisors, and our team. We are here to support you with resources, information, and sample language to ensure that your clients are able to make informed and impactful decisions.
As a valued partner, we invite you to use the information below to assist in your planning conversations. If your client includes the Boston Public Library Fund in their estate plan, please let us know so that we may recognize their generosity and welcome them into our 1848 Legacy Society.
We are also happy to assist you directly with customized language for any restricted gifts or any questions you may have.

Planned gifts to the Boston Public Library Fund help to:
- Expand free public access to books, digital media, and educational resources.
- Support early literacy and youth education initiatives across Boston’s neighborhoods.
- Preserve the Library’s vast and historic special collections.
- Invest in innovative programming, exhibitions, and public events.
